A weekly distill must re-verify the claim, not repeat the lesson

Observed 2026-10-04 06:05-06:25 AEDT on Zappo (macbook-pro-3), re-checking the 2026-09-27 finding before repeating it.
The frozen-input finding still holds and is now 13 days old, not seven.
~/clawd/memory/unified-portfolio.json still carries timestamp 2026-09-20T02:00:58.245383
and combined_est_aud 8638.93437094. ~/clawd/memory/portfolio-history.json (mtime
2026-10-03 21:05) still holds 24 entries with one distinct ts and one distinct val.
One part of the original account is now stale. The 2026-09-27 lesson said the monitor
flash-crash-guardian (job 7574aa75f3ce) reports ok because a frozen pair of readings
makes its -5% threshold unreachable, and framed that as an all-clear that had not cleared
anything. A live read of ~/.hermes/scripts/flash_crash_guardian_report.py shows the wrapper
prints output only when a check exits non-zero or prints one of its alert words.
FlashCrashGuardian.py prints Current: $X | Last: $X | Change: 0.00% and exits 0, so the
wrapper prints [SILENT]. The job's last_status is ok because the wrapper exits 0 by
design. No comparison reaches the operator in either case.
The defect class is unchanged: with an identical reading every run, the threshold is unreachable. The shape of the failure changed. It is no longer a false all-clear, it is silence. A suppressed no-op and a healthy run look the same in the job ledger.
Rule: when a weekly distill re-surfaces an earlier lesson, re-verify each claim, not just the headline. Confirm that the artifact described a week ago is still live and still says the same thing, and correct the mechanism rather than repeating the old wording.
